Song of These Days… =)

DAFFODIL LAMENT
Cranberries
Album: No Need to Argue
(1994)

Holding on
That’s what I do
Since I met you

And it won’t be long
Would you notice
If I left you

And it’s fine for some
Cause you’re not the one
You’re not the one…

Here…
Here…
Here…
Here…
Here…
Here…

All night long
I laid on my pillow
These things are wrong
I can’t sleep… Here!

So lonely,
So lonely,
So lonely…

I have decided to leave you forever!
I have decided to start things from
here!
Thunder and lightning won’t change what
I’m feeling!

And the daffodils look lovely today…
And the daffodils look lovely today…

Look lovely today…

Oh in your eyes I can see the disguise
Oh in your eyes I can see the dismay

Has anyone seen lightning?
Has anyone looked lovely?

And the daffodils look lovely today…
And the daffodils look lovely today…

Look lovely today…

Look lovely…
Look lovely…
Look lovely…
Look lovely…
Look lovely…
Look lovely…
Look lovely…
Look lovely…
Look lovely…

Na-na-na-nana-na…
Na-na-na-nana-na…
Na-na-na-nana-na…
Na…

DAFFODIL

Narcissus (Daffodil) is taken from the
word "Narcissism", from the Greek word
numbness. The Daffodil is named after
Narcissus who, in Greek legend, fell
in love with his own reflection. He
remained looking at his reflection and
the Gods thought that he would die of
hunger if he remained there any longer
so they turned him into a flower… ^^;

The yellow Daffodil which blooms in
Spring usually becomes the sign that
Winter is soon to over, and warmer
season is coming. Therefore Daffodil
is also commonly used to
represent "NEW LIFE" and "HOPE". The
flower is the adopted emblem of Marie
Curie Cancer Care Charity. Daffodil
also means RESPECT, REGARDS, also
states that "THE SUN ALWAYS SHINES
WHEN I AM WITH YOU"… =)

CRANBERRIES

No Need to Argue is an album by The
Cranberries released in 1994. It was
the band’s most successful album, and
has sold about 16.7 million copies
worldwide. It contains the band’s
greatest single to date, "Zombie". The
album’s mood is darker than that on
Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why
Can’t We?. It shows a more mature
Dolores, writing about war, death,
love and disappointment. Her voice is
clearer, without the previous album’s
double and triple voice layering. In
some of the songs, the band decided to
take on a rockier and heavier side,
using distortion and increasing the
volume.

All lyrics by Dolores O’Riordan, all
music by O’Riordan/Noel Hogan except
tracks 4, 7, 10-13 by O’Riordan.

"Ode to My Family" – 4:30
"I Can’t Be With You" – 3:07
"Twenty One" – 3:07
"Zombie" – 5:06
"Empty" – 3:26
"Everything I Said" – 3:52
"The Icicle Melts" – 2:54
"Disappointment" – 4:14
"Ridiculous Thoughts" – 4:31
"Dreaming My Dreams" – 3:37
"Yeat’s Grave" – 2:59
"Daffodil Lament" – 6:14
"No Need to Argue" – 2:54

I bought this CD when I was back then
in Halifax, Canada, year 1995-1996. It
was my most favorite collection, and
some of my favorite songs are Zombie
and Ode to My Family, since me and
friends of SLIMER (Satu Lima Merdeka)
crew of 65 Senior High School Class of
I/5 played them in band we called
GASMANEMA (Gabungan Anak Satu Lima
Enam Lima ^^;), I played keyboard,
year 1994, year the album was booming,
first issued.

Also my favorites are last two songs,
DAFFODIL LAMENT and NO NEED TO ARGUE.
I had no idea back then why I love
dark lyrics, sad atmosphere, guess
such always overwhelm and influence
me, since I’m a Piscean, so easily
influenced by change of feelings! ^^;

As for DAFFODIL LAMENT, things that
happened to me these days had helped
me to comprehend the essence of the
song. It’s sad to have to END
something, but an end also means a
START of something NEW! NEW HOPE! NEW
LIFE! Like what Daffodil means…

Guess I shall still CHERISH… =)

NFR REGRET LOVIN’ U though… ;)

U take care… Tha! ^^;v

KIDO KAMEN =)
